Former Employee - Document Review Attorney says

"Recruiters stressed how busy they were and how important attendance was, then didn't offer work for 3 weeks. Turned out it's sporadic for doc reviewers but have to commit to taking no other employment, so can end up being very unpleasant. Late notice, unfriendly, toxic"

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"They are outsourcing staff positions"

Former Employee - Legal Secretary says

"Management regularly retaliates on older staff, and lie. Rampant sexual harassment by partners, pretense regarding missions and principles, many attorneys are not honest, and do not live by the ethics they swore to uphold when taking their oath."

says

"Don't be fooled - this is a big firm, and will churn through associates, who are treated as expendable cogs."

says

"- Salary is not competitive with firms in its same markets and there is no noticeable improvement in work/life balance to offset this. As other comments point out, the award for being a "best" workplace seems to have no basis in the day-to-day environment of the firm. - Attorneys here are prone to gossip about staff members and other attorneys. This was commonly the main topic of conversation at informal social events. - Partners verbally attack associates about work issues in informal group events and in front of other supervising attorneys and peers instead of providing feedback in a professional manner. - Certain partners have been known to pit associates or junior partners against each other by delegating identical projects. Instead of providing constructive or negative feedback to the associate that completed the weaker work product, the partner will gossip about that associate to the associate that completed the stronger work product. - The firm's actual hiring and professional development practices seem to place diverse associates at a disadvantage and stand in contrast to the firm's touting diversity as a "long standing core value." The firm, for example, provided offers to 100% of the white summer associates in its northwest offices in a recent year while offers were made to 50% or less of the diverse (LGBT and ethnically diverse) summer associates that were in the summer program in that same year. This was so even in instances where the summer associate's work product was seen as strong. - The firm is very self-absorbed with its success in the relatively small Seattle market. Yet even in Seattle, Perkins does not attract the best litigation and corporate work, which often goes to satellite offices of larger firms. The firm is not competitive in most of its other markets."

says

"Low salaries and hard to gain any salary increases other than the increase for cost of living; 2-3%. It doesn't matter how hard you work here; everyone gets the same raise regardless of your efforts. Management is disconnected with their staff which shows in their high turnover rate in positions like these. Training and opportunity is based on paralegal association or assignment. Typical office politics and favoritism."

Former Employee - Legal Secretary says

"It's SO huge that you'll feel like a small nothing. I found that since there are SO many resources to help the attorneys they don't really need a legal assistant so I spent most of my days going to coffee with other legal assistants. I just personally can't fill my day with socializing, I need to have work to do. However, if you want to skate by and not work this is the perfect place for you."

Former Employee - Conflicts Assistant says

"Department heads and middle management are unwilling to listen to advice. Lots of backbiting. Use staffing agencies to fill admin roles for seemingly forever instead of doing right by their employees and hire them outright."

Current Employee - Associate Attorney says

"It's not. There's no work. The office is a compilation of small-firm practitioners. No 401k match."

Legal Assistant says

"Constant sexual harassment. Touching. Threats of firing if not sexually cooperative."

Assistant KM (Current Employee) says

"Training bad at best no goals set for anyone outside of management. Only management got a break in the action and it is the finger pointing capital of the worldFree pancakesNo comunication"

Management Assistant (Former Employee) says

"This job is so embarrassing I wont include it on my resume. General manager is a guy who breezes in once in awhile and brings his 20 year old girlfriend to work. 99.9 Percent of the servers are presently or were meth users, and the other half have been to prison at least once. Dont apply there its a horror show!Absolutely noneAll of perkins"

Kitchen Staff (Former Employee) says

"First off, how they ran this company was just plain unconstitutional, especially in clear violation of labor laws, which required employees to work a shift in the morning/afternoon and return to work overnights, with less than 10 hours in between. How this even allowed was unbeknownst to me and seems like they got away with it for a long time. If you want to keep your sanity, work-life balance routine, and not get mixed in with a toxic working environment as the employees will talk behind your back if they don't like you. Kitchen managers ran this place like a correctional facility.50% off foodAlcoholic beverages not sold to employees off duty, horrible scheduling"

Server (Former Employee) says

"What a sh@# show of a group. Entitled, snotty losers thinking they are better than they are. Customers and new hires pay the price. Be warned...they will use you to lessen their work load while they, not you benefit from your effort. Prepare to work half the time your scheduled to work. The carrot on a stick seems to work for the high school kids training there. Someday we may all be good enough to work at Perkins if we work super hard and kiss was. No thank you.NoneNumerous"

Assistant Manager (Former Employee) says

"Managers here never looked out for employees only them selves always short staffed and put on only certain people to make it work DM was rude and ignorant owner just as bad NothingNothing"

Kitchen Manager (Former Employee) says

"will never get PTO, benefit or vacation. Management changed monthly and they would rather fire and rehire than give raises. They filed bankruptcy 3 times. That should say enough."

Line Cook (Former Employee) says

"This is a 1 star establishment. They serve 1 star food and deliver 1 star service. This is to be expected, its Perkins. What I wasn't able to manage was the kitchen serving rotten vegetables and expecting secrecy from its staff. Nope. Not for minimum wage.."

Service Manager (Former Employee) says

"Would never recommend to work here, always being contradicting, they say they care for employees but they only care about the money they are making. And you can’t really plan for a day off"

GENERAL MANAGER/OPERATING PARTNER (Former Employee) says

"the worse place with no support evrey thing by email no traning the only thing thy care about is money dont buy or work at Perkin its just bad .When you need help good luck and when you get its to late if you ever get it ."

"Terrible place do not work there if you value your sanity or your safety terrible management terrible work encvironment only thing that’ll keep you going is you may luck out with good colleagues. If you don’t, it’s the worst"

Cook, dish washing (Former Employee) says

"When i wasnt busting my butt for lack of better terms for minimum wage; i was dealing with consistent drama with the owners and managers. No goal or focus."

Server trainer (Former Employee) says

"be afraid to work there, gossip, bullied, they act like they are in high school and will give you hours depending on if they like you. they are awful people and the turnaround in manangement and cooks and servers is like drinking water because they are so mean. especially the regiional mgr. cant never say nothing nice. hateful."

Service leader (Current Employee) says

"This company dosn't take care of it's employees or there careers. Not a good company to work for over worked and under paid. Management is under skilled."

Server/Waiter (Former Employee) says

"Worst Food Service Employment I have ever experienced! Glad Coronavirus caused all Restaurants to close down because if general public would have continued to patronage the store they would eventually would have contacted illness due to lack of Servsafe Guidelines being followed! Place needs to hire new District Manager and thoroughly train and clean restaurant as if place was a new restaurant starting up!"

Food Service And Trainer (Former Employee) says

"Worst place I ever worked. I was there over 10 years. My manager yelled at me, never respected me. told me I was old and not a good server. Don't ever work for this company!Good tipsEverything else"

Server (Former Employee) says

"I met allot of great people but their are allot of junkies that they hire and refuse to fire even when it makes the establishment look horrible they just dont care about the quality of their staff they hire. No patron wants their server swaying in the wind like a tree as they knod out at their table. What"

Service Leader- manager in training (Former Employee) says

"I would've loved my job if I didn't feel taken advantage of when I was hired I was told I was hired for one position and I did my training and thought I'd be advancing but then realized I was being misguided. did what I needed tNew relationshipsWasteful energy of valuable time"

Busser (Former Employee) says

"Working at Perkins was one of the worst experiences of my life, super unprofessional, working extremely late hours, terrible atmosphere and atrocious management"

Perkins (Current Employee) says

"I wasted 5 years of my life for this company. Not worth it!! The only restaurant open on Thanksgiving and Christmas!! And no time and a half or holiday pay!! The food sits under the heat lamps for 30 minutes before someone will run the food."

Manager (Former Employee) says

"Competitive pay is a joke. If they can pay you the least amount of money and get you to do everything their happy. They constantly short staff you but you cant tell the guests that. They care about thier bonuses more then the actual customers. New company bought them. No changes have been made to improve anything."
